Minutes – July 18

·         Dam update:  The debris is out of the gate and trash racks seem ineffective; we may need new ones and certainly need better guidance cleaning them.  Super will contact engineer (Christie or Foley).  Idea to pur sue log boom upstream of dam.

·         Regional Water Quality Coordinating Cmte meeting: JA attending recent meeting and found that the Vortex sediment control system only costs $5000 to install.  Group wonders if this can become a priority for Whiteface Mtn. to install at corners of its bridge. 

·         Plannign for sub group meetings (see below).

 

Waterfront Day meeting – July 19:

Attending:  Holly, John L., Doug Wolf, Anne Barlow, Kara.  We met to plan this day and invite participation from the historical society, fish and game club, Au Sable river association, etc.  Marjorie Swift of the Adk Farmers’ Mkt Coop is also helping.  See Outreach message below for details.

Policy Meeting – July 28:

Attending:  Judi, Jeanne, Marian and Peter Yuro, Kara, Garrett.  Dawn and Holly to comment by e-mail.

 

Policy 1:  Add para on updating and improving land use code to include site plan review and assessment of impacts of developments on community character. 

 

-          Rentals:  should have variance that notify neighbors, should they pay business tax?

-          Ordinance for quiet at night

-          Town board reserves right to enforce building moratorium should the need arise.

-          Add economic breakdown to inventory – Garrett provided updated report

-          Italicize definitions or put glossary at front.  Judi to edit.
